Cherry Blossoms bloom,
A semblance of sanity;
It’s beauty, fleeting.

Boat driving’s a hard job to master,
Mistakes lead to a maritime disaster,
To make the canal bigger
They brought in a digger,
Whilst a long line of ships shout “Go Faster!”

Ablaze and aflame,
Our Lady burns,
Seven Hundred Years,
Up in smoke and ash,
Suffering,
A nation mourns,
A world consoles,
A toast to the end
Of the Age of the Cathedrals,
The hubris of man driving her demise,
And yet though from the ashes a new lady may rise,
Forever is gone,
The silent sentinel of Paris fair,
Her haunting legacy;
Ananke.
